I like to explore the seemingly ordinary and mundane. I enjoy recontextualizing these moments in our lives and giving them another layer of meaning. I believe the mere action of turning them into art allows one the opportunity to view the moment from a new vantage point or in a new way. Through this process I hope the everyday scene becomes more profound in its meaning.

In general I am someone who has a hard time expressing my feelings, so art has been a great outlet for me to communicate what I feel. It does not always have to be something that is beautiful or easy to listen to or look at. But I hope it resonates with others and if I have made someone feel something or made them think differently about something, then I feel I have been successful.

In addition to the mundane, I love exploring vulnerability. I want people to empathize with my subjects and subject matter. I push myself out of my own comfort zone and work with different materials, which is a way to explore my own vulnerabilities and evolve as an artist. This will hopefully be a lifelong journey for me.
